Is there a feature to let you know whether there is an IVP background commentary passage to accompany a particular scripture you are reading? When I am reading, I have to hit analyze verse, then commentaries, then hit backward and forward to find out if there are any IVP background passages on a particular verse or group of verses (which sometimes there are not and I just wasted a bunch of time). It would be nice if I could know from the verse or verses somehow whether there was an IVP listing available for that particular verse or section.

Version 4.3.0 of Mantis Bible Study (currently in Beta testing) has this feature. Well, sort of. With 4.3.0, if a selected verse doesn't have an entry, you are offered an instant link to both the previous entry and the next entry for the given commentary. It's very handy, especially when you're in, say verse 5 and the commentary entry for verse 1 covers verse 1 though 6.

I can't even describe how much that helps. In addition (forgive me for "spilling the beans" a bit) 4.3.0 has the ability to view the commentary right inside the main reader screen. It's so much faster to get at the commentary now!
