Dear Mantis Team,

Just a question. I saw via a google search that someone is working on Mantis for the Android OS. Is that still moving forward? I am concerned about screen resolution. I saved up a long time to buy an Android and finally purchased an HTC Wildfire. Great little phone, but some apps are off limits to me due to the screen resolution being QVGA, and some apps won't even show up in the Android Marketplace if your phone doesn't have high enough resolution.

Could I request that when you do an Android version that you make it available to some with less than top of the line screen resolution.

I've used Mantis for some time now on my iPod Touch, and love the program, and have recommended it to others. Thanks for your efforts.

We are indeed working on an Android version. It should be designed to be resolution-independent, meaning it should work on any Android device.

Word is that it's taking longer than we expected, but we continue to work on it.

I have been checking, almost daily, for the Mantis Bible Study for Android. I can hardly wait to have it on my Android tablet. Any word about the expected date of availability of this great app on Android?

We've reconfigured the development and put more resources on it and hope to offer a beta version some time in the next few weeks.

Will it be possible to transfer notes and other information stored in your servers from iPod Touch to an HTC EVO for example? (I would assume through one's Mantis account?)

On a similar note, what of the books and multiple bible version purchases done in the previous handheld? Would it be possible to at least redownload them to the new device?

The plan is yes, and yes. But nothing's official until it's released, of course.

Awesome. I'm very patiently but very eagerly awaiting its release. I can't thank you enough for such an excellent product. Best and most intuitive in the market in my opinion. God bless.

I am now a Droid X user, and I am also anxiously awaiting the Android version. Mantis is a great mobile Bible app! I am also a developer, so I can appreciate the skills required to go from iOS to Android.. Big difference.

I agree with you. Mantis is the BEST Bible app ever! The developers work so hard to make it better and better. They really do listen to their users.

The only reason why I have stuck with the iPhone so long is specifically because of this app... I dont want to lose out on this great investment. I am very pleased to see that an Android version is going to be available (hopefully before Jesus returns). I am buying today the Motorola Atrix,... bye bye iPhone and for now I hope to see my beloved Word via the Mantis Bible app...

Any status on the Android version? The Mantis Bible is the only app that I keep my iPad for, and the only one that I lack on my Xoom. I have tried using others, but they just do not compare! God bless you guys for the great bible app.

So grateful that you folks are dev for Android ... I currently have Mantis on my iPhone ... time to leave the iPhone ... tired of the Applelopoly.

Is there a way to transfer existing Mantis purchases to the Android platform provided I delete the app from my iPhone?

Thanks,
GL

You should be able to transfer your purchases once the Android version is released.

To each his own but I've had lots of time with the Xoom and it's just not up to pair. It's sales are not great and the amount of apps is so low. Hopefully they will catch up. Maybe the next android os will finally merge all their operating systems. Hopefully Mantis will work across many android os and platforms. But many developers have found this to be a huge hassle.

Hi All:
Well I took the plunge and I am now iphone free. Only thing I miss is Mantis. I currently have a droidx and a toshiba Thrive. I like the Thrive and I am able to use it in ministry. It has a sd card slot and I can transfer files from my laptop and put on the Thrive. I can open them and edit them with docstogo and save them, really nice. Also I have found several Bible apps that work very well while I wait for Mantis to come along. I would like to add it to my collection of Bible apps. In MHO android is coming along and is catching up. Though my needs simple. Just be patient and android will catch up.

What does it take to be an Android beta tester? I recently make the move to a Samsung Skyrocket and miss my Mantis very much. i would love to do anything I can to help with the Android development.
