Is there any time estimate on when the IOS5-compatible Mantis will be available? I need to move my iPad to IOS5 for my own development efforts, but I also depend on a functioning Mantis. Sooner would be much better.

I went ahead and updated to iOS5. Today I see that when using NAS with Strongs the underlined words (for the Strongs note) do not activate (pop open a window). Pretty major problem.

Yes there are huge problems. This is really making things difficult on my sermon prep while on the road. I updated iOS 5 before Mantis put the word out about the problems. Not sure how a app developer missed such obvious problems after having ios 5 beta for months.

It was crashing in IOS4. In IOS5 I cant even make a bookmark. Its the most expensive app I have and it doesn't work. iPod Touch 4 gen. NKJV.

I would suggest going back to ios 4.3.5
I installed ios 5 as well and it was a disaster to say it nicely.
almost nothing worked at all so I went back to ios 4.3.5
apple says you cant go back but its really very simple. if you
have trouble with it email me and I will send instructions.

I don't think so. One misbehaving app is not a reason to revert to an previous OS.

It depends.
If it is the most important use I make of the device, I'd say that a single app is a more than enough reason to hold back onto a previous OS.
Updating to the newest OS is not mandatory, and I'd say that a time of adjustment is rather physiological in every new iteration of any OS.

Think that, despite all tests the developers might have done, widespread use with the new OS are possible only after release (how many beta testers had access to the betas of iOS5?)

Now, just give us the fixes
s

(of course I'm sorry for the iPhone 4S users that don't have this choice…)

I wasn't too impressed with the announcement but I do like the features in 5. Message center is great.

I upgraded to the newly released 4.9.8 Tonight, Tuesday, and it fixes my basic problems with opening up Strongs underlined words and then opening up other versions and books underneath a verse.

The problem I see now is that the "analysis" feature is gone when you press on a verse number. You still have mark, email, note etc.

I see that editing notes is very different. Take you to a separate screen. This will probably be very helpful for major notes. I will have to try it more.

Thanks for the improvement.

Analyze Verse is not working in iOS 5 yet, and we are still working on this. For now, we recommend using the BYOSB links instead. Just tap a verse number and then tap the links for the Bible translations you want to read or the commentaries you want to read.
