Hi, I have an iPhone 3G with iOS 4 and Mantis Bible v4.8.6
I am having trouble moving / deleting bookmarks and notes from a main folder to a sub folder.
I was able to get some notes to go into the sub folder, but they remained in the main folder also. After reading a suggestion in the forum, I did a backup and deleted a notes folder, then restored the notes, with the overwrite option. The deleted folder was indeed restored, but none of the notes or sub folders were restored. I did a second restore (I did NOT do another backup first), but still, the notes and sub folders in the folder in question do not appear. Very troubling.

Second issue, I can't get bookmarks to move into a sub folder at all. I'm not about to try the backup, delete and restore scheme. Am I doing something wrong? I would appreciate your help.

You should contact support about this, as we can check your individual backup file to see if something is wrong.

Generally, the most common issue here is that most people don't realize that bookmarks and notes attached to a Bible or Commentary resource will NOT appear when you switch to a dictionary or other type of book. When you switch back to a Bible or Commentary, all those old bookmarks and notes show up.

This is part of the basic design -- only notes and bookmarks show up if they're relevant to the type of resource you're working on.

To move a bookmark from the root (main) folder to a subfolder:

1. Go to the bookmarks screen

2. Tap "Edit" at the top

3. Tap the bookmark you want to move

4. Select the folder you want to move the bookmark to (just tap the folder name and select one)

5. Tap "Move Bookmark"

6. Tap "Done" at the top

I am in a particular Bible version (ESV) and tap the "Bookmarks" button at the bottom. I choose a folder (Finding God's Will) which has some bookmarks in it and some sub folders (Part I, Part 2, Part 3). I want to move some of the bookmarks in the (Finding God's Will) folder into the (Part 1) folder and they just don't move.

I'll contact Support regarding the missing notes.

We have confirmed there is a bug if you have an apostrophe in the name of a folder. This will be fixed in an upcoming release.
