IPhone 5C with latest iOS

Mantis was working fine yesterday. This morning it won't launch. Reset phone to no avail. Deleted & reinstalled and it works, but can't sign in to restore purchases!

Hello friends,

Using: iOS 8.1.2 iPad 4th generation

Problem: Mantis is open but when clicking on the page (Hebrews 5 "read page") the program closes - immediately.
After I close the Mantis program, then click on the app icon to reopen it, Mantis immediately closes.
If I click the home button twice, the Mantis Hebrews 5 page is visible but if I click on it, Mantis immediately closes.
I was using iOS 8.0 when this started to happen; so, I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2, but the problem remains.

Hope: I hope that I don't have to delete the Mantis app and download it again.
If I do, will I lose my saved bookmarks and any other preferences?

Just upgraded to iPhone 6 and latest Mantis, but noticed screen sizing is wrong.

Eg: in portrait mode on bible list screen 'restore purchases' button is off the screen to the right. Switch to landscape shows it ok

App needs optimisation for iPhone 6?

Please advise time frame to next release?

"Music" interaction problem

I have found a problem between Mantis Bible and the Music application (at least with podcasts). I started to listen to a Renewing Your Mind podcast and decided to use Mantis Bible instead of a hard copy bible. As Mantis Bible was starting (with startup animation enabled) the player stopped. This does not happen with startup animation off.

Refresh issue on Mantis 4.9.20 on iOS 6.1.3

I'm noticing a refresh issue after using the corner shit cut pull-downs in landscape or portrait for mantis ver. 4.9.20 on iOS 6.1.3. It refreshes only after restarting the app. I have a few screen shots, if desired.

Crashes with New Apple Software Update on IPAD

I have lost all of my study material (not happy). I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but everytime, I try to download the different versions of the bible that I paid for Mantis crashes and will not come back up. I have followed your instructions and as long as I don't download other bible versions Mantis is fine, but I need to be able to use what I have paid for.

Mantis Bible Study is simply quitting rather than running in an iPhone6 Plus ... on iOS 8 and 8.0.2 ... does anyone else have this problem? Is it a bug? Works fine on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 with iOS 8 so i think it might be an iPhone 6 problem.

Android Notes Bug

I've purchased Mantis for a Samsung Galaxy S4 since June 2013. I've updated several iterations of Mantis for Android and each iteration displayed quirky "Note" behavior.

I cannot delete any Note Folders I created. It seems that some of the folders are inside other folders.
I select Notes --> Edit --> select the Folder I want to delete --> select Delete ... Nothing Happens and everything remains.

I've tried contacting Mantis on this issue without any remedy or resolve.

My questions are:
1. What if I uninstalled Mantis and ensured that no Mantis folders or cache files remain, then, reinstall Mantis?
2. In Android OS which directory folder contains the Notes cache? (Using a File Manager).

I hope one of those 2 solutions are viable. :cool:

Auto reference tags (linkable references) in Notes inconsistency

Auto linkable Bible references in Notes are inconsistent; sometimes links are created, sometimes they are not... Some times they are almost right, but not quite.

For example:

165.Study On 1 Tim. 4:1-7

1 Tim. 4:1.
In the last days some depart from the faith of the latter times,- third angel's message.

1 Tim. 4:1-3.
They depart from the faith in five definite things:-

1. Give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils,-become spiritualists.

-- Example End --

In the above example, only the second reference (1 Tim. 4:1.) works correctly. The other two only link to first verse, but not the range.

There are times when if in the same line you have the same Bible reference twice - only the first reference becomes linkable.

Please look into resolving this issue.

Bread crumbs notes navigation shows Backup instead (not allowing to navigate back)

There are times that the back navigation via the bread crumbs like button does not work - it does not show the parent folder. It shows the Backup button instead... This problem persists even after I restart the app!

The only way for me to work around this bug is to create a dummy folder, navigating into this new folder, then the back navigation button becomes normal again... I then edit and delete the dummy folder, then continue on with my Bible study...

This is time consuming and frustrating. Please help me resolve.

I am using Study Bible version 4.9.21 on iPad mini.

Notes indexing problem - opening note loads up another note

One of the best features of this app is the ability to create advance notes. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing a bug that is crippling my Notes use:

When I create a new note, I save it, then try to open it, but instead of showing me its content, it shows me the content of another note, from a different folder! When I edit the note, it shows me the intended note OK.

I have renamed the note it opens, but still opens it. I imagine it is an indexing problem. So...

I have re-indexed modules in the hope that it may re-index notes.
I have deleted notes and started from scratch... But nothing is helping :-(

Please help me resolve this frustrating problem!!

I am using Study Bible (KJV) version 4.9.21 on iPad Mini (16GB) with latest version of iOS.

Font sizes change between portrait and landscape mode

I'm running Mantis on a 5th gen iPod Touch, under iOS 7.0.4. I've set up my desired reading font size. However, when I move from portrait mode to landscape mode, the font size jumps up quite a bit. If I create or edit a note on landscape mode, the font size of all text on the screen will shrink back down to where it should be. However, when I finish editing the note, the font size jumps back up again. Sometimes, after editing a note, the font size will stay smaller but I can't seem to reproduce that consistently.

Despite the occasional bug, Mantis Bible is still my go-to app for Bible study. Thanks and God bless you.

Since 2009 Mantis has exuded intentional reluctance in delivering the ability to cut and paste.

WHY? Copy rights?
It appears Logos and others do a more convenient job.

Most of all the other features require way more coding sophistication!

Bookmarks in iOS 7

My bookmarks disappeared after upgrading my iPhone (4s) to iOS 7. No big deal, I had put a backup on the server before I upgraded it. Well, when I went to restore them, there weren't any in the list to choose from. I checked from my iPad, which I hadn't upgraded yet, and there they were. I went ahead and just said "ok" to restore what looked like nothing from my bookmark backup, and it brought in an older backup. That's okay, I can live with that for a while. But what's annoying is that about every time I launch the app on the phone now, the bookmarks are gone and I have to go through the process again.

So after ignoring my iPad's notice to upgrade to iOS 7, I finally did it today. And the same thing happened with the bookmarks in it - they disappeared (or so I thought). So I went to restore the backup set on it to see if it acted any differently, and it did the same thing that the iPhone was doing - it didn't show any of my backup sets on the server, just a blank area.

But this time I didn't want to do the same thing as before and restore an unknown set because I wanted to keep the newer bookmarks that were on my iPad without wrecking it. So I went into the options panel and I changed the way that the bookmarks are sorted. I changed the folders from alphabetic to sort by date, and the bookmarks themselves to being sorted by date rather than by book. When I went back and looked at the bookmarks, they were all there again as a I left them, except they were sorted the other way now. So then I went back to the options panel and changed them both back to alphabetic sorting. Then I went back into the bookmarks and they were like they were supposed to be.

After killing the app and restarting it they're still there so, it looks like maybe the iPads okay. But I would sure like to restore my iPhone's bookmarks to the newer set. So will you guys please fix that bug that does not allow me to see the dates on my backup sets, so I can pick the correct one to restore? Thanks.

To reproduce, tap and hold the first word of any verse.
Or, modify a selection backwards to include the first word and preceding space between first word and verse number.

Hot corners for quick navigation

The hot corners for quick navigation can leave a grey box at the top with something inside, depending on which hot corner was touched. Also, the side slider area keeps its info for quick navigation. I have seen this before, but now I know how to make it happen.

You are supposed to touch and slide to navigate. If I double tap on the corner, the problem will happen every time. When it happened by accident I didn't realize what caused it until now.

Reference in search results doesn't link

I used to be able to touch the reference or ">>" after the reference in the search results and it would take me to the verse in the read mode. It isn't working. I think it stopped working when I got my iPhone 5, or maybe with the update to support it.

Ipad Book selection in grid mode

I've just downloaded onto a new iPad with retina display, IOS 6.

The book selection using grid mode works fine in portrait. If you rotate into landscape the last 3 "boxes" on the right hand margin are missing, and the page won't scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen. I can get it to work by rotating into portrait, selecting the book, then rotating back again. I can email you a screenshot to show you what I mean.

until it's fixed. I'll have to use the list mode, which works fine.

Add a Note bug

iPod Touch 2.0.1 and latest Mantis (where do you find the version number?)

When adding a note, if I tap where it says "Tap here..." near the top of the note edit window, the keyboard appears covering the note edit window, leaving the verse window visible. Tapping lower in the note edit window correctly displays the keyboard below the note edit window.

MacArthur Commentary Error 2nd, 3rd John and Jude

The MacArthur commentary in 2John, 3John and Jude has all of the verse notes clustered together under verse one rather than distributed thru the verses.
