Several places where the iPhone version doesn't return to where left off.

I think this is repeatable.. be somewhere in the middle of the verse, go to the book mark screen and set to save to a different folder, then when clicking "read", won't be at the same place.

These bugs, i think, were injected in OS4.

Other sequences also return to wrong place.

If you're in the middle of a verse, you'll return to the beginning of the verse when the read screen is reloaded. I think it's been like this since before iOS4. We only track placement at the beginning of the verse.

hmmm... I thot it returned. But, no matter.

Then I have to remember what verse I left off on... the iPhone would have a better memory than me! :)

Give it a try. I was at John 3:20... I clicked on this verse so the menu would come up and it would know where I was... then went to bookmarks, changed folder, pressed read, and it returned me to John 3:15.

If I jump to, say, Gen 3:4, then go off to bookmarks, it does return me to the right place. The problem is if I jump to Gen 3:4, scroll down, then go off to bookmarks and come back, the click read... it doesn't remember that I scrolled away but where I jumped to last.

Thanks for taking a look at this.

Yes, we see what you're saying here. It remembers the last place you entered the chapter, but not where you left the chapter. We'll see what we can do about this.

I have just verified this is a known bug that is fixed in the 4.9.0 release, due to be uploaded to Apple next week.

Was the new update given to Apple last week so that we might see it soon?

It has not been sent to Apple yet. We found bugs during testing and are fixing those now. We hope to send it to Apple within the next few days.

Apple released about 15 versions of Mantis 4.9.0 yesterday, but they have not released the free version yet. Hopefully, they'll release the free version of 4.9.0 within the next few days (that's typically how it works.)

I had no idea there were so many. I see them now on the site. I've added many commentaries, translations, etc. Do I still have the "best" platform for expandability? Are the other versions expandable past the translation you get with that download?

All versions of Mantis Bible Study are exactly the same. The only difference is the content that comes with the version.

Think of each version as a "starter pack" that comes with some content you'd normally purchase separately.

Stated another way, if you were to download the free version of Mantis and then purchase the NIV, you'd end up with the exact same thing as if you'd have purchased the NIV Edition of Mantis.

Gotcha. Would have been useful to have gone that way as I could have earlier access to the update since Apple releases the update via these versions sooner than the free version, as you had said.

Thanks for your help...

If I purchased one of the other bundled products in order to get the newest release of software, would the other translations, commentaries, dictionaries, etc., be recognized on my device and not need to be downloaded again?

Any prior purchases will be recognized automatically, however you will have to download them. They should show up as "Ready to Download" automatically, though.

Sause, if something Is missing that you have purchased and not "ready to download", just touch the left top blue " bible" box KJV, NIV ? Then at the top center, tap the "red" update and it will connect to Mantis and then they will show up. I often have to do this. I keep buying software and not everything shows up at first! Then at the bottom of the screen tap on the red bibles, commentaries, Media, dict. and books, to down load. I do 6 or 8 at a time. The voices are large "Ryan"! Check the website, it has some free bibles, books, etc. I just love the books and commentary! Dave

Hoping Apple will release free version soon. You know of any problems in this regard? Tempted to buy a bundled version just to get the bug fixes that I hope have been fixed.

We have no idea. You never know what Apple is going to do, or when.
