Hello folks!

I am a big fan of Your app, enjoying Your laborious attempts to provide more and more new content such as the A. W. Pink book series which really is worth the money. The Internet alternative is free BUT very clumsy to read, so- THANK YOU!

My request would be, that, since I am not only doing my study and reading on the iPhone, but a lot of research on my MacBook, I wonder whether one of these two options You already taken to heart:

- getting the mantis bible app out for Desktops- basically I don't think You need to add so much bells and whistles to it- the desktop version would simply allow to interact with the purchased content on a different level... copying and pasting is really a issue when You for instance are preparing a sermon... I mostly end up hand-copying it, always wondering whether there might be a better way

- if You think this is too big a thing for You- why don't You team up with the guys from Macsword, that just released a very clean an fast software for free bible content including commentary views and a fast search.

I would simply like to make use of the content I bought on another platform than the iphone- You think this is realistic in the not-so-far future?

Thanks for all Your effort,

mat

Although having a desktop version would be nice, there are ways to copy anything from the iPhone to a PC or Mac very easily. One free program called Evernote resides on both phone and desktop and syncs between them automatically. Copy from Mantis, paste into iPhone Evernote and it will show up on your desktop Evernote where you can copy it into another program.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know about evernote, but the feature You're mentioning would already be provided by the apple notes program that syncs pasted content... I would also like to actually read and study being relieved of the really handy BUT at times small iphone screen- and in spite of the usability of notes and highlights in MBS it still is no comparison to do that on my Mac...

We're definitely looking into this right now, but I just don't know how far off this is. The goal would be to have resources shared among iPhone and the desktop, and also to have notes sync across platforms automatically.

@Mark: what can I say? That sounds like heaven in my ears.... I'm right with Life Pastor, proceeding like this, even with a fee (although I think most of the success of MBS for iPhone is driven by the free app and content, while for the sake of keeping things in one program the rest of the content is bought)

While we're raving- You guys at Mantis got any idea what You're doing with our purses? Every time I check with Your new plugins it gets better and better- you very sensibly pick only the best of the best to include with Your app, Tozer, Pink, Calvin, to just tag a few.... we can't thank You enough!

What Mantis is doing with our purses? I can tell you - SAVING it! I've just seen the newly released original texts with parsing and dictionary connection by Olive Tree. They're great, but the price? 70$ for a Hebrew OT, 60$ for a Greek NT and 75$ for Septuaginta. That's pretty much for my tiny little purse, so if Mantis wants some 20$ for a multi-volume commentary or something, it's really not much. Thank you Mantis among other for keeping the prices low!

I was just about to post something about an idea of discounting the extra resourses for Mantis. Coupons, holiday incentives, etc...
Some of the full prices are starting to give me STICKER SHOCK! =) Besides, who doesn't like a good sale!

The price used to bother me little also when buying ANY bible book style add on. But compared to buying hard back volumes that take up so much space it just makes since for me to spend the money adding the volumes to a digital database. I have over 4,000 real books in my real bookcase and am thinking of giving them to a young preacher. I travel and preach weekly so having the choice to carry a complete digital study program with volumes of books is great for me. I really think Mantis is very fair on their prices.

Although as much as I promote them they should give me a COMPLETE MANTIS with ALL the volumes for FREE! Just kidding Mantis!
