We used to have subfolder sorting in bookmarks before the 4.0 version. Why was that taken away? :(

It wasn't taken away -- the sort was changed to "date entered". In 4.2.0 we have added an Options screen entry that lets you choose to sort based on "last entered" or alphabetically like it used to work. This version is currently in beta.
