I've wanting a good, extensive commentary for a while. I have been hoping for the Bible Knowledge Commentary or the New Bible Commentary, but neither have shown up. The preachers commentary is interesting because it is so expensive, but has no description or screenshots. I don't want to buy it without knowing what i'm getting. what is the difference between that and the believers commentary? also what translation is it based off of? is it a verse by verse commentary? how many enteries does it have?

Thanks.

The Preacher's Commentary contains just under 4,000 entries. It's not really a verse-by-verse commentary but more of a thought-by-though or paragraph-by-paragraph commentary, with extensive, complete entries that go very much in depth.

If you do a search on Amazon.com, you'll find that the CD version of this set sells for well over $100.00. The print version has a NT set for about $300.

There's also a lot of info on this title at the Thomas Nelson site (the publisher.)
