Notes/backups multiple devices?

I understand that the iPhone and iPad have a unique backup file...what about 2 iPads? I am getting a second iPad and wondered if the two can/will have separate backup files. My wife plans to have her daily reading on one and mine on the other...

All backup files are unique to the device, so two iPads would have two completely separate backup files.
