It would be useful to include either a date or revision number that would show on the update page on the ipod to let the user check that he has the latest revision.

For a future revision, we're working on a way to have the app automatically detect what you have installed and look to the server for any newer updates. This would be even simpler.

In parallel, it might be helpful to allow RSS subscription to your update page (and new releases page). Users could add this to their current news aggregator and stay informed of updates and new offerings. (Not like you don't have plenty of other useful things you are working on :-)
