Hi,

Here are some suggestions for new books:

Bible Translations:

  1. Amplified
  2. Complete Word Study Bible (Zodhiates)
  3. God's Word
  4. NKJV
  5. NLT
  6. Wuest translation

Commentaries:

  1. Wuest Studies & Commentary
  2. Bible Background Commentary
  3. Other classic standards (e.g., Matthew Henry, ...)

Dictionaries:

  1. Dictionary of New Testament; Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels; Dictionary of Paul and his letters
  2. Exegetical Dictionary of the New Testament
  3. Eerdman's Dictionary of the Bible
  4. Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (Kittel's; Abridged)

Misc:

  1. Bible Maps!!
  2. Bible reading plan (popular, and liturgical)
  3. Book of Common Prayer

Oohh ... how about a Reverse Interlinear for ESV?  ESV seems to be very willing to share such resources, and this would be a God-send for a handheld unit for me.

It would be nice with new books to be able to tap in a Bible and pull up resources ... for example, it would be nice to tap on a word and bring up a list of dictionaries to look up the word.  This would be nice for Greek as well.

Blessings,
Brandon

Many of these are in the works, but with most of the Bible Translations and such we're at the mercy of the publishers, who tend to move very, very slowly.

We're already working on linking words to dictionaries, but this isn't firm yet.  We won't release anything unless we feel it "makes sense" and doesn't goof up the rest of the interface.  It's gotta "just work".

What exactly is a "Reverse Interlinear?"

Oh, and we are working on Hebrew and Greek texts as well.

If you want to forward information on any specific commentaries or dictionaries, send that info on to support@MantisBible.com and we'll look into it.

A "Reverse Interlinear" follows an English translation with the Greek underneath it (versus a typical Interlinear which follows the Greek, and the English translation beneath it).

Here is the ESV website explanation, along with a screen shot:

Do you think you will add the JPS version (Jewish Publication Society)?

I think it is in the public domain.

We have spoken with the publisher, and they are not granting any new electronic permissions for the new version, but we can make the older, public domain version available.  Hopefully, we will be able to make that one available soon.

The older version is still good.  I will be looking forward to when you have it ready for download.  Thanks for checking with the publisher.
