Dear MantisDev. I have been using your software on and off for almost a year now.
The Daily Reading section is very user unfriendly if I may say so. There's no quick way to view how far behind you are or ahead etc etc. Also how come you haven't started making the app look a little more easy on the eyes, more Applesque? I still use a 1st Gen iPhone and a few versions back the App started behaving very streamlined and speedy upon opening up etc etc. Now it just crawls along at snailspace again and many times just plain quits on me. I'm not doing any major usage other than reading or using the reading programs. If you take a look at Youversion's daily reading plans interface, this is a lot more satisfactory but lacking in an easy way to skip back to the day you last left off at and also it's online which is a major drawback to me when I'm in areas with a poor signal.

So just a few pointers & suggestions to help the App progress, it feels like improvements have sort of stopped or are never going to come. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for what I have, but after spending roughly $40 the most on any app to purchase content I would hope that the user interface would start making some major leaps & bounds in ease of use & efficiency, that's what it's all about. If it's not easy & quick to use it's a hassle. I might as well carry my Bible with me & do it the old fashioned way.

My two cents worth

Re: daily reading

If you go into Tools, Options and set "Open reading plan to last unread" then the reading plan will open up to the last entry that you haven't read. This is designed for people who don't want to read through the Bible at specified rate (i.e. the Bible in a year.) You may want to set this setting and see if that helps you in your reading style.

We have been working furiously on version 4.7.0, and it's taken a long time in testing. This is mainly because we intend to introduce 3 major new features that haven't been done before on the iPhone (that we're aware of.) It's taken a long time to get this version out because it's a very big undertaking.

Thanks for your patience. If you're having any trouble with 4.6.0, please email support. We'd love to help if we can, and we definitely want to hear about any problems you're having.

Thanks for the quick response guys, sorry if I sounded displeased or gripey. I never noticed that option before for the reading plans! Also I meant to mention it would be great to have a customizable plan so you can pick how long you want to take to read through the Bible & keep track of it. Something else I forgot to mention is, once you click on a certain section in the reading plans you have to keep going back and clicking on the next section if you want it to mark it off, also if you have a plan that has OT, NT, Psalms etc you cannot just click 'next page' until you're done reading. That would be a great feature too (Unless that's already there & I haven't seen it)

Looking forward to seeing the new version.

Thanks.

We are working on a way to expand the reading entries right from inside the reading plan page, so you don't have to go back and forth. Hopefully that will be available soon.
