I notice that we can now buy Mantis Bible from the iPhone Apps store.

When we buy the program via Apps Store, will this add another icon on my iPhone? Or would it add the book/bible as a selectable module into the current Mantis Bible icon that's installed?

I'm currently running version 4.4.0.

There are 2 answers to that question.

If you purchase an APP from the App Store, such as "Mantis NKJV Bible Study (The New King James Edition of Mantis)" then you will get a second icon. If you purchase items like this, you'll get a separate icon every time you install a new version.

However, once you've run each version one time, that version will show up as "Ready to Download" in the other versions, so at that point you can just choose one version to run, download all the Bibles to that one, then delete the other icons.

Now there's a new feature called "In App Purchase" that allows you to purchase any version of Mantis (other than the free one) and purchase Bibles and books right inside the app, where they are downloaded immediately and installed. In this case you'll only ever have one icon and you'll just fill it up with whatever Bibles and commentaries and dictionaries and such that you want.

Unfortunately, while our app now supports In App Purchase, Apple hasn't approved the items we have available yet, so this feature is useless until they approve everything. That could be today, or it could take a month. We have no information about how long it will take, but we'll post a notice on the top of our home page when they've approved everything.

Cant wait for in app purchase to work! O man this is going to cost me a lot of money! LOL

I've noticed that I can't upgrade to 4.5 (from 4.4) over the Apple Apps Store - it doesn't recognize there is an update available for the MSG version. I've tried both the iPhone and the MAc iTunes sync options, but to no avail! Is this an Apple issue? Of course, as you mentioned, it still doesn't recognize the FREE version...

P.S. The MSG version still current according to Apple is 4.0!!!! What gives?

If I search for the MSG version in the App Store, it shows 4.5.0. This must be a bug in the App Store. You should back up any notes/bookmarks, then delete it from you device. Then just download it again from the App Store (you will not be charged again if you've purchased that version before.)
