Are iPad backups and iPhone backups stored separately?

I backup Mantis on my iPhone so the info is not lost. If I backup my iPad (which does not have the same bookmarks) to the Mantis server, will the iPhone backup be corrupted (bookmarks lost)?

Not an issue, just a question seeking information.

Backups are indeed stored on a per-device basis, so you can't just backup then restore on a different device. However, if you email us a request, we will be happy to copy your backup file from one device to another. Just be very clear about which device you want us to copy FROM and TO.

Does having you folks copy a backup file from one device to another allow the devices to be "synched" in some manner? I have both an iPhone and an iPad. I would like to have my notes, bookmarks, etc... mirrored on both devices regardless of which device I make changes to. Sometimes I work on my iPhone and sometimes I work on my iPad. Is there any way to achieve this type of "synching" solution?

Is it possible to "sync" both/all devices using the "local server" function? (or will it still create unique backups)

The local server option will allow you to download and upload your notes, so it is possible to transfer notes from one device to another using this method, although we don't recommend it.

Several people have reported that iTunes could not finish the back up process and gave this error message: iTunes could not backup the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone OR backup session failed.

To fix this problem, simply delete your corrupt backup files by opening iTunes Preferences ( Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences; Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences), there Select the Devices tab, then select your backup and delete it, then try the backup again.

iPhone 3G have not the feature of syncing the backup files but 4G has this feature. iPad is something different apps and program applications but they have some features same like syncing the data files. I tried last month to backup ipad and compare with iphone but it does not allow me. Iphone has the feature but ipad not.
