I was just noticing a new feature had showed up unannounced on my device. I've been anxiously awaiting its arrival, and when I found that I had a new book on my device, I tapped on it. But it keeps crashing. Is the "Daily Reading Plan" supposed to be ready yet?

The daily reading plans only work with the 4.0 version(s) of Mantis.  It says this in big bold red letters if you view the reading plan info.  Unfortunately, if you just add it to the cart without viewing the full info, you'll never see that.  Sorry about the confusion.

Keep the reading plans around if  you already downloaded them, though -- they'll work once you get 4.0.
