I use Mantis Bible Study Software on my iPhone.

I have the version v4.1.0.

It happens often that the software crashes, especially when I read more than one commentaries for a selected passage. It suddenly quits. Usually I just open the application and continue to read. However, last time after a crash, I could not open the application. It starts with a welcome screen and then immediately quits.

First thing I did was to shut down my iPhone. But it did not help. I had to re-install the application once again by deleting the application from my iPhone and then sync my iPhone with iTunes. It was a tedious process because then I had to reinstall all versions, dictionaries and commentaries once again, and I have many of them.

Thanks for reporting this. We would love to be able to duplicate this so we can so we can solve it.

If you can find steps to duplicate the problem, please email those to us. Also it would be helpful to know what version of the Bible you were using and what passage you were studying.

After reinstalling the software (v4.1.0), it seems that the problem disappeared. (I used v4.1.0 when I experienced the problem before I reinstalled the software).

I recall that I studied the 1 King 22:18ff. I started to read commentaries on the selected passage. The application crashed every time I changed commentary. I used to read following commentaries in the following order:

ACCB, BARN, JFB, GILL

As I said, every time I changed a commentary for the selected passage, the application crashed (quit). I had to open every time. When I came to GILL, the application quit and it could not be opened again, as described in my previous post.

I used the most current version of Mantis Bible Software version. Is it possible that the problem is related with updating issues? I did not delete the previous version when I updated from 4.0 to 4.1

Anyway, it seems now that the application works smoothly.

I will notify you if I experience once again the problem.

However, there is still one similar problem. Sometimes, when I change from commentary to a bible version (this time from WEN to KJV) the application crashed. This happened right now. The passage in question that was under reading was 1 King 22:18ff
