I am running the NASS with the Strongs Lines active. Personally I think it is the best way to run this app.
As soon as I activate the Hightlighters, my Strongs lines are gone.
And if I change the settings to Colors, then go back to Lines, I still get the Colors with the Lines .

On another note, this program has become very slow... And this causes problems when in service trying to keep up with the speaker. NOT A GOOD THING!

I like this program very much, but it is way to slow... Can some thing be done to speed it up a bit?

The strongs links (underlines) must go away when you use the highlighter because when highlighting, tapping words will highlight them (thus you can't tap a word to view the strongs definition.)

Regarding the speed -- if you are running 4.2.0 (the latest release) then you'll need to be more specific. What part of the app is slow?

That makes perfect sense... I never thought of that.

As far as the slowness.... when I am in say NASS, and I want to highlight some thing, after I highlight it, turn off the highlight tool, the program takes a few seconds to clear up.
What I mean is this: the program will stall for a few seconds, then it refreshes to the first verse of the chapter, just too finally refresh to the verse where the Highlights took place, this is annoying to say the least. Or if I switch from one version to another, it also takes a few seconds to change over. (Now I am not ralking about 2 or 3 seconds, I am talking about 8 to 10 seconds here).

Now, if I am trying to work in one of the Dictionaries, it really slows down just to switch to the dictionary.
When I analyze a verse, some times I hit the arrows on top to switch to the following or previous verse, since the arrows do not show they have been hit, you think they don't work because it takes to long just to move to the selected verse.

While in service, the preacher will give a verse from a book, all is fine until he gives another verse from another book, and then things slow down again.

These are small inconveniences, but they are just that, inconveniences.

Don't take me wrong here, I still love every thing this program offers; I just wish it was a bit snappier, peppier, and just flat out faster.

Keep up the good work Mantis, you still have the best app available, period.

God Bless.......

While I have a 3GS (which is much faster... for example, changing from one translation to another takes about 2 seconds, maybe a little less) some of the times you are describing don't sound right.

Analyze Verse is very slow if you have many translations and commentaries loaded. That section definitely needs work. Highlighting is also on the slow side, and we'll be addressing that in a future upgrade.

But 8 to 10 seconds for anything -- that doesn't sound right.

A few things you might try... reboot the phone by holding the top and home buttons (keep holding both buttons until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons.)

Next, you may try reloading individual modules that seem slow (like the dictionaries you mentioned.) Just swipe your finger over them in the bookshelf and tap Delete, then download them again.

If that doesn't help, I'd suggest a complete reload of the software (backup bookmarks/notes, then delete the app from the phone and download it fresh.) You'd need to reload all your purchased books after reloading, so be prepared to spend some time if you decide to do this.

Thanks for the reply Mark...

I have done as you outlined above but have not seen an improvement in the program.

I am thinking about getting the 3GS so that may help some, I hope.

Even with the slowness, this program is the best on the market.
Keep up the good work Mantis.... This program is awesome!

The 3GS is 2 to 3 times faster across the board, so it will help tremendously.

Raul

I switched from the 3G to the 3GS and the delay was significantly reduced. I really don't notice a lag at all any more.

If you can get the 3GS; I don't think you will regret it.

By the way; the new enhanced camera, videorecording and voice commands are great improvements as well.
