It appears that users who have had an issue updating to 4.3.0 were running iPhone OS 3.0. Once upgraded to iPhone OS 3.1 or 3.1.1, it seems to be fixed. |

Can you please contact support and give us more information about your configuration(s) such as -- what phones you have (2G, 3G, 3GS) and what OS they're running. Also, we'd like to know why you can't upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1 and whether this problem is related to the problem you're having with Mantis 4.3.0. Thanks for your help! |

If it's working ok for you, then it's your choice. (I personally recommend 3.1 -- it's been more stable for me.) |

The Build Your Own Study Bible is AMAZING!! I wasn't clear on what that would be and didn't expect to be excited about it, but now that I've checked it out----WOW! Simply outstanding!! |

Oh Man! I had come to LOVE my Mantis software, but the 4.3 upgrade has quickly changed that. The 4.3 upgrade did not mention it ONLY runs on 3.1 firmware. I updated to 4.3 and now the program blows up on almost every function. Why didn't you do regression testing on the upgrade to make it compatible with what your customers were actually ruinning? At the very least, we didn't you guys at Mantis tell us the 4.3 upgrade REQUIRED a firmware 3.1 upgrade? I can not allow the Apple firmware upgrade to change my baseband firmware, so upgrading to 3.1 is out of the question. Can you provide ANYTHING for those of your customers who love Mantis bible software but want to back off the 4.3 upgrade? Please don't just leave us out in the cold. . . . .

One more thing. Your Apple store link clearly states that you tested this upgrade on OS 3.0. THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE CASE. Sorry if my frustration is showing through but after spending good money to build a Mantis library and then this . . . .. I feel betrayed |

We actually did test on 3.0 on the iPod Touch, iPhone 3G and 3GS. Unfortunately, sometimes the beta versions we produce may run fine while the production version that we send up to Apple, for some reason, does not work. We're still trying to figure out why. You can restore from an iTunes backup to go back to 4.2.0, that is an option. We are sending a fix for this up to Apple immediately (it was scheduled for last night, but we're still testing it and hope to send it up today.) I don't know how long Apple will take to release it, though. Also, we did change the upgrade notes for version 4.3.0 to mention the problem, so it should be prominently displayed when you view "What's new in this version." In addition, there's a very big note at the top of our web site. We want to do all we can to let people know before they upgrade.

burggraf, thank you for your response. I never realized how much I use the Mantis software until this recent upgrade got me. I have attempted to restore from a back up, unfortunately I do daily sync's becuase of my heavy use of Outlook and my iPhone calendar so the backup I have is of the new 4.3 Mantis upgrade. I am unaware of incremental backup/restore functions in iTunes, Am I missing something or am I right in assuming restore will not work for me. Also the reason I did not see the alerts concerning the upgrade issue is that I always update using my phone. I never go to the website to update or via iTunes, so there was no message I was aware of in upgrading in that manner. If you guys have fixes to this release going up, I can rough it until then. Mantis software is the best software I have ever used on my phone and I appreciate you guys working diligently to make this "snafu" go away Thanks |

The "What's new in this release" notes for 4.3.0 should mention the incompatibility problem right at the top. (We changed those notes as soon as we became aware of the problem.) If you upgraded very early though (in the first 12 hours or so) you may have not seen that warning. If you have any iTunes backup of your phone containing 4.2.0, you should be able to restore it, I think. We've already made the fix and have been attempting to upload it to Apple since yesterday, but I think there are problems with their site (the site that accepts our updates.) Trust me -- we're literally working around the clock to get this update to Apple!

Apple's site for accepting applications and application updates is having severe problems over the last several days. However, we worked well into the night, trying to submit our update, and as of this morning, it looks like they got our update. The status is now "In Review". Of course, there's no way to know how long it will take Apple to approve the update, but we have emailed them to let them know of the severity of the issue. We asked for priority approval, and while it's unlikely that we'll get a response, it doesn't hurt to ask. |

I am having this problem even with the latest OS version (3.1) for Ipod touch. I turned the touch completely off to see if it would reboot correctly, and then it seemed to move the Home screen icon and redownload it. The download took ages. But even after rebooting the app still crashes every time. What's worse is that I have no backups of my purchases because I only recently purchased this app. I still have my email Paypal receipts however. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Thanks for your hard work to find a solution guys. :O |

Your purchases are never "lost" -- you'll always be able to download again from our web site once you're up and running again, so don't worry. This sounds like you got a corrupt download. You should delete the Mantis app and then download it again from the App Store. This should fix the problem. If you have any problems at all, please contact us by emailing support, or just use the "Contact Us" page here on the web site. |

I was running 4.3 on iPod Touch 2.2 OS or so & it worked fine - when I went & upgraded to 4.4.0 on this device without warning (I didn't see that it only worked with OS 3.0 :() I now don't have a Bible & can't get back to 4.3 - catch 22 - is there any hope of 4.4 working on OS 2.2 or so because I can't afford to upgrade to OS 3.0 yet. Thanks, Marvin |

You can restore from your iTunes backup, if you have one, and go back to 4.3. Moving to 3.0 or 3.1 is highly recommended, though. Besides the copy and paste functionality we already support, there's a lot more coming that we're going to take advantage of from the 3.0 feature set. As a matter of fact, we already support the 3.0 In App Purchase feature for all the paid versions of Mantis (as soon as Apple approves the content, all titles from our online store will also be available as In App Purchases.) |
