Mantis is now pretty much the main reason I'm still using my iPhone. Steve Jobs just made Flash CS5 an app creation monster for Android, so we're catching that wave. Would love to see Mantis on Android someday. I understand the economics, believe me--but wanted to put in another vote. |

We are currently working on an Android version, so it IS coming. And no, I can't tell you when it'll be released yet. I just don't know yet. In addition to Android, we're working on a desktop version that'll work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. |

I agree this is great news. I am currently on the Iphone but plan on moving to Android in the next 30-60 days. I would like to suggest that if you have a lot of problems programming the Android app then an intermediate solution would be to instead of a desktop version do a web based version and have a mobile formatted alternative. This way it would be accessible on Windows, Mac, Android, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, etc all at the same time with the same programming effort. Then you could take your time doing the Android app as a separate thing and it would immediately open you to other phone platforms. Just a thought ... |

I am also awaiting with great anticipation. I wish I had waited for the new iphone but I was impatient and renewed contract with an htc desire. I have olive tree for the android but the font is unreadable and tiresome and the resource is a pale shaddow of mantis. So I have to keep an ipod touch. When I can get mantis onto the htc I can dispense with the ipod touch. Nothing against apple ipods or iphones. But there is little point duplicating devices. |

Just wanted to add another vote. Also, I am hoping that when I convert, all my notes and bookmarks etc...will be recoverable. Thanks for all you do! |

[/quote] I would like to add another vote too for android. I am thinking of purchasing an iPad but I will now wait a little while to see if an android version surfaces. My HTC Incredible would be great to use Mantis on as well as a possible Android Pad in the future. I think that having all of your notes and bookmarks backed up digitally is excellent since bibles and books wear out! You guys are doing great! Is Early Fall still looking possible? If not, do you have a new ETA? Thanks so much! -Chris |

Sorry, no word yet. It's coming along, but we're running into a few problems that need to be worked out. A release sometime this fall is still very possible, though. |

Just wanted to chime in again...My company converted me to an HTC EVO. After looking (and looking and looking) I have not been able to find a mobile Bible reader that even comes close...I had no idea how much I miss the Mantis interface and feature set. You guys do it right! I am getting by, but I can't wait for this release. |

And no news, mentions, hints whatsoever |

It's been slow going, but we are making some progress. We hope to offer a beta version soon now. |

I'm getting an Android pad within a week and the only app I'm missing on my Android phone since I've switch off the Iphone is Mantis. I really really miss this app. I'm a computer engineer and understand how easy it is for software dates too drag out, but can you be anymore specific on your latest guesstimate range of when the Android app beta will be ready. I don't have a problem with it being wrong but would just like to know your best guess right now. Before it was "late summer or early fall" and then it went to "soon" last month. Just saying "hopefully by the end of a certain month" would suffice. I'm sure you have an idea at least whether by the end of May or the end of July would be more likely at this point. Just as a side note, usually bringing an app to another platform doesn't bring all of the features on initial release, for me personally the features I need the most are the daily reading plans and access to my purchased resource library off the verse #'s. I could wait patiently on all other features like highlighting, audio reading, etc. |

While I can't give any date estimate, I can tell you that about a month ago, we moved a significant set of resources onto the Android project, so it's moving faster now. Email support if you'd like to get into the beta program and we can email you directly as soon as we're ready for testers. |

Count another vote for Mantis on Android. The only thing holding me back from an Android Purchase is the Mantis. Come on guys, each vote represents hundreds if not thousands that think the same but don't voice it. Mantis is hands down the best eBible out there and Android will eventually smoke iOS ... Many of us are ready to get off the Apple Train. |

I have had the Iphone app since it came out but have been frustrated by the proliferation of android tablets but no Mantis app for android. Will the app be free for those who have purchased the Iphone version? |

Just checking in for an update, it has been some time since this was announced....considering how dominate android has become in the smart phone industry, I am kinda surprised this hasn't been released yet... |
