In the past, I had requested that highlight be automatically be carried across bible volumes. You rightly pointed out that it wouldn't work because of different wording from translation to translation.
How about as an alternative that if you highlight a verse, section of a verse, or multiple verses, a special type of bookmark is automatically created (that will be flagged across volumes). If a partial verse is highlighted, the whole verse is bookmarked to avoid the problem of not being able to match up word for word.
While a user could create a bookmark at the same time as highlighting, automatically creating a "highlight bookmark" would save steps, especially during a sermon.
This would be helpful for someone who highlights in NIV during church or Sunday School, but NASS during study time, but wants to know that there is highlighting in a different volume.
