It would be nice to have a specialized search activated from the "Read" page, for verse references appearing in global notes. For example, from the John 3:16 verse, list global notes if they contain John 3:16, John 3:16-20, John 3:14-16, John 3:14-20. Also recognize and match on verse references using equivalent alternate book abbreviations.

Even nicer would be a maintained linkage as global notes are created or deleted or modified, and having an indicator (similar to musical note symbol) next to the verse number on the "Read" page that the verse has its verse reference contained in a global note. Searching or displaying the global notes could perhaps be activated through an icon listed when the verse number is tapped.
