Has an undo feature been brought up? I mistakingly highlited a long section. I must have touched a word and started the highlighting when I only meant to scroll the text. When I went to start highlighting, it actually was the second touch to complete it. It highlighted over other work I had done in different colors. I had to go back and do the passage over.

Perhaps the undo could be incorporated in the same feature as backing up to the previously navigated verse. Whatever was done last gets undone.

Well, there are 2 ways to handle this.  The first isn't quite obvious.  If you touch a word (in highlight mode) by mistake, touching any word in the chapter BEFORE THE FIRST WORD will ignore the current highlight process.  So I touch  word #5, realize it's a mistake, so touching word #4 clears things and lets me start over.

The other option, of course, is just to highlight with white over everything and start again.
