I've used several bible programs on the Palm platform and really liked the auto-scrolling function that several had that allowed for adjustable speed via up/down on the 5-way pad. This was nice for varying the speed according to the reader's speed. On the iPhone, varying length of up/down strokes could probably be used to accomplish the same thing. If this isn't possible, then a tap on the top/bottom of the screen to decrease/increase the speed would also be acceptable. Basically, this operates like a controllable tele-prompter.

This is on a list of possible features for Mantis, but I don't know how soon it might be implemented.

I was going to start a discussion on this topic and see I was beaten to it! I definately agree autoscroll is a must! It Is my very favorite feature from Palm Bible programs I have used. It is dearly missed on my itouch app. I do all my Bible reading via the itouch... So autoscroll is the single most useful feature for my usage. When I used my Palm (glad those days are gone) I could read so much faster and retain more with autoscroll. I hope this feature makes it into this otherwise perfect Mantis app. Great job, great product, please add autoscroll to make a great app even better!!!

For a great example of a well implemented autoscroll feature on the iPhone platform, check out some of Standard Works LLC classic books... This makes reading so much faster and easier... I truly hope something like that makes it into Mantis!
