I've only recently discovered Mantis but so far I like it very much. I do have a request, though. In addition to highlighting I would also like the ability to underline words. My personal approach in my physical Bible is to use certain colors for different themes (i.e. topical study) and then to underline words or verses that speak to me personally, i.e. favorite passages, or to emphasize key words in a sentence. I would love to be able to do something similar in Mantis.

The ability to circle words/phrases might not be a bad idea either. More color choices for the highlighter tool would also be nice.

Overall, though, this is a very good app.

I too was wondering if Underlining would be a possible feature to implement ... chaning the Background color is great ... but I would like the ability to have something underlined, or even if the TEXT COLOR could be changed ... this would be similar to Words-Of-Christ-In-Red method ...

We'll look into this possibility. Thanks for the suggestion.

How would this work with the Strongs Bibles?

you code to mark a START and code to mark and END and everything in between gets underlined ... whether or not stuff between were numbers or not ...

Am I missing something here?

Probably...
The Strongs versions have the option to underline the strong words in the text, hence my question.
There was another feature a while back that could not work due to the same thing.

Now you tell me, are you missing something here?

I do not have Strong's module for Mantis ... could you direct me to a screen shot? Is the default view something like:

englishword 1234576 englishword 23212 englishword 818394

If not what is the default format? If this is the default format, are there options to turn off the numbers and have the text hyper-linked to the Strong's definition as in other software? Are both parts underlined ( the word and the number? ... if not a continuous underlined section would visually serve the purpose here) ... or ... another option would be to change the default font color for content between DesiredStart and DesiredFinish ...

It would seem an easy problem to deal with ... with lots of options ... but I'm not sure how it appears by default.

In options for Strongs you can pick from in the Mantis program if you want the words underlined, numbered or in color. I have used the underline option. Not sure if that helps your coding question.

I too use the Underlined option. I like it best...

The Numbers and the Colors, seem to be out of place for my taste, to strong of a marker if you asked me.
I have tried to darker or a lighter color to set the strongs words to a slightly different color, and I still can't get used to it.
The underline option works well for me.

I guess the problem I forsee (just my thoughts) is that if a person wanted to underline a particuler part of a verse or say a word, then found that the words in that part of the verse or that word itself is already underlined by strongs, could easily overlook the desired word or words when one is looking for the underlined portion at a later date.

This may be a very good idea, I was just thinking out loud since I recall something else not working with the Strongs Underlined option... I just can't remember what it was.

God Bless.......
