God led me to a passage in the New International Version of the Holy Bible (I also checked TNIV to see if it was the same), it was 1 Samuel 5 verses 7-10. In these verses our God's name has a lower case g, it appears that way 5 times when placed between 'Speech' marks, I went and checked 1 Samuel 5 verses 7-10 in a very old King James Bible (family Bible dated 1853) that translation has our God's name with a capital G. I have put up an event on 'Facebook' and sent out a group email to all my Christian friends asking them their opinion on this. Also I have checked 21 other English translations and found they all have our God's name with a Capital G. Listed below is the webpage that I found all the different translations on. I am very concerned that this is could be an error in the New International Version Translation and Todays New International.

It appears in this passage that the translators chose to use the lower-case rendering of "god" when non-believers were referring to our God. Meaning, since they were speaking, they did not have the same reverence for God that a believer would. This is an interesting rendering by the publisher.

I believe that our God's name should always have a Capital G because He is the one and only True God, by using a lower case g it makes Him into an idol god. Do you agree.

I have had people comment that when it’s a non-Hebrew speaking the translators use a small g. If this is the case can anyone tell me why in Ezra 6, where king Darius has written a memorandum, the translators use a capital G for our God’s name. I quote verse 3a: In the first year of King Cyrus, the king issued a decree concerning the temple of God in Jerusalem: Let the temple be rebuilt as a etc…..

I don't know -- you'd have to write and ask Zondervan -- it's their translation.

Thank you for your response, I contacted Zondervan Press and they said I need to send my query to Biblios because they owned the rights to the Translation. I did this a couple to days ago and am waiting for a response.

Does anyone else have a suggestion of where I can go to report this, I still believe that this is a serious error in the NIV and TNIV.

Zondervan is the publisher -- that's who I'd go to, but they'll probably send you to someone else.

Yes I did go to Zondervan Press and they sent me to Biblica the Translators but I have had no response from them. I have now sent an email to Yale University Bible Department hoping that they may be able to shed some light on it. Thank you for your help.

As of late, in class, our instructor has been showing us about homosexuality, dating, and insurgency/advancement, yet in a level headed discussion sort of structure. Ex. He would ask do you trust that dating is alright in secondary school? On the off chance that yes, go to this side, assuming no, go over yonder and so on assignment writing service
