Quite often when I change chapters in the Bible or rotate the view to landscape, Mantis software leaves out part of the chapter. It's usually anything after chapter 20 that gets left out. I was told this was suppossed to get fixed in this new O.S. but the problem is still there. I would post a picture, but your forum doesn't allow it. Do you know that this problem still exists? The bad thing is that everytime I read the Bible, I always have to check the number of verses in each chapter to make sure I'm reading the whole chapter or not. Very frustrating.:( |

This shouldn't be happening -- ever. I've heard it reported here and there, but never consistently. Have you tried resetting your phone (hold down the top and home buttons and keep holding until you see the Apple logo appear, then release both buttons)?

Actually this happens to me all the time... Only within the same translation (italian). I haven't seen it with others (though I use mostly the italian and the greek) Es. if I open Mark 15 and I scroll to the end of the chapter, only 20 verses will appear. If I then switch to ESV all verses will appear correctly. Go to the end of the chapter and switch back to the italian version: et voila, all verses are there as they should... (Yes, I have tried to reset the iPod) |

Resetting does nothing. If you developers will just play with an iphone, you will see this happens quite a bit. It's whenever you switch back and forth from normal view to landscape is when it mostly happens but happens at other occasions also. And like Silvoc and I've said, it always cuts everything off after verse 20. You may not be hearing about this alot because most people will just think the chapters over and move on. I notice because I do alot of bible reading and studying and it's very noticeable to me. Can you please fix this bug? Thank you Matt

We use the program every day on our iPhones, and I have not had this problem. Can you duplicate this problem on your phone, as in -- will it do it consistently every time? If so, we'd like to get some more information about your particular setup, because that might help us identify what's going on. As I've said, I use the program every day, and I never get chapters cut off like this. You may want to delete the program from your phone entirely and re-install to see if that helps. You may have a corrupt installation. |

It does not do it every time, just once in awhile. The new 3.0 reduced the occurences of this happening. As far as deleting the program and re-installing, you told me this on the version before 3.0 and it still did it. Now with the new version 3.0, it still does it but like I said not as often. I don't think it has anything to do with a corrupt installation because I've had numerous versions on my phone and it has always cut off after verse 20. I will play around with my phone and see when it actually occurs and what I was doing with it at the time. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this. Thanks for your response, I'll let you know what I find out. |

Don't forget, I'm talking about verses, not chapters. Example: I've got a picture I took when this occurred in Acts 11. It shows verses 1 - 20 but Acts 11 verses goes to 30. Acts 11:1-30 not Acts 11:1-20 |

Yes, we understand the problem -- it's caused by the fact that the app loads verses in chunks of 20 in order to increase performance. For example, loading Psalms chapter 119 takes forever because it has 176 verses. However, the screen draws after the first 20 verses are loaded, so you can begin reading while the rest of the chapter loads in the background. What don't understand is when or why this happens. If you can duplicate it using specific steps -- please let us know. This would be very helpful. Thanks. |

Okay, just opened up Mantis this morning: 1) Had phone turned sideways(landscape mode), touched the Mantis App to start reading Bible, Acts 1 came up. I scrolled down and only 20 verses out of 26 showed up.

Couple more things noticed: Verse 21 when paragraph mode is off, is alot of times is bunched into verse 20. Example: 20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son. Should read: 20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

That should be a relatively easy bug to fix. Thanks.

Same thing this evening: Had phone turned sideways(landscape mode), touched the Mantis App to start reading Bible, Acts 7 came up. I scrolled down and only 20 verses out of 60 showed up. |

I have the same thing happen every once in a while. Then I try to find a sequence of actions that would cause it to repeat and it never does. |

I believe we've fixed this, since we could duplicate it with the Italian Bible in a specific place. The fix should appear in 4.2.0. |
