Hi all! (and the developers, at the first place)

It's funny how this thing about the free version of Mantis 4.0 is going on. I think now everyone can figure out where are you going with this - that if there is ever going to be a free version, we have to wait veeery long for it.

OK, why not? It's business, it's how money is made. I have no objection, I'll be more than happy to play along. But please, consider users from other than English speaking countries. For example I don't need any English translation, but I would gladly buy some Mantis Bible Study: Greek or even better - Mantis Bible Study: Greek & Hebrew. What do you say about this? I can't wait for such features like Strong numbers (greek and hebrew) linked with the corresponding dictionary...

Before I finish I would like to say that Mantis is a great program which I use often a would use even more if any Czech version was added. And hebrew, but you wrote that you're working on this, so I hope that it's not gonna take as long as the free 4.0 version

And I yould like to thank you for the good work you're doing!

We submitted the free version long, long before the "branded" versions, and we have no idea why Apple is holding the free version.  It really bothers us because we're afraid people will think that we're intending to hold back that version, and we're really not.

We also intend to support many other languages, but that's just going slower than we expected.

I was just kidding, I believe you. But I wasn't kidding about the part with the standalone and paid Greek or even better Greek & Hebrew version. Any plans about that?

Thank you.

We already offer a couple of Greek versions, and have a few Hebrew coming up pretty soon.

I know and I'm looking forward to the Hebrew version already some time. There's just the 4.0 version I'd like to use.

So I would gladly buy the 4.0 version coupled with e.g. the Greek version with Strongs. Or with the Latin Vulgata, both of them I'll buy anyway (and the Hebrew version too, of course).

BTW is it a big problem just to resubmit the app to Apple?

It sounds like Mantis effectively resubmitted the app to Apple. See the notice on the Home page:

"Development Update - Saturday, January 24, 2009

While Apple approved the MSG and ESV Editions of Mantis, they kicked back the NKJV, NASB, and KJVS versions.  Yesterday, we re-submitted those versions along with a new one:  Mantis Bible Study: FREE.

This new FREE version is the KJV version, which is essentially the same as the 4.0 update.  If Apple keeps holding back the 4.0 update version for some reason, perhaps they will release the new FREE version, which is a separate product.   We will maintain and update both versions.  The new "FREE" version just falls more in line with our new branded line.

In addition, during all this time, we've been working hard on the 4.1.0 and 4.2.0 versions of Mantis Bible Study, and hope to introduce 4.1.0 later next week."
