I have lost all of my study material (not happy). I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but everytime, I try to download the different versions of the bible that I paid for Mantis crashes and will not come back up. I have followed your instructions and as long as I don't download other bible versions Mantis is fine, but I need to be able to use what I have paid for.

First which software update have you installed on the iPad? 8.01 was a bad release... Be sure you are using 8.02

Second. After you uninstall Mantis... Reboot the iPad before starting to reinstall.

Start by only installing the original item you purchased. For me it was CWS. Then test that and be sure to put your username and password for Mantis under settings. Then if that is working... Do the other add ons as in-app purchases to get other bible versions, media, dictionaries and commentaries that you bought previously.

If you still are having issues with it working... Call Mantis as they made need to reset your account to allow reinstall as there is a limit on number of times you can install the software.

Are you Mantis people still in business? Just curious because I don't see where any of you replied to this post... or a lot of others. Is this supposed to be a self-help forum where the users try to solve each other's problems? That's the way it looks, at least a simple acknowledgement of people's problems would be nice - maybe even telling us if you're working on fixes to problems.

I had the same problem as the original poster, and followed the directions of the second poster and it worked. Well, it just did it again for no apparent reason, and it looks like I get to spend another hour uninstalling the program then reinstalling all the Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc... Then go through an tune up my preferences again.

I can think of a lot better ways to spend my time. I used to strongly recommend this application to anyone who asked my opinion. But right now, I can't do that in good conscience. I don't think I'm alone on this - look at how many views these "bug" threads get, even though only a few people actually post in them. Is there another place on the Internet where you're performing your support functions?

You might try eSwordHD for the iPad (there is a lite version for the iPhone). I switched from Mantis to it.

I've been having the same issues with Mantis constantly crashing on my iPhone 5s after updating to iOS 8.1 yesterday from iOS 7.1.2. I deleted and reinstalled the app - which caused the app to work again - but none of my purchases were available. I then tried to install one of my original purchases via in-app purchase but was charged for it. Not very happy about the situation right now.

Mine's been working ever since my second reinstall. I don't know if there was any correlation, but I seemed to have my troubles when I would switch between it and e-sword. I haven't run e-sword on my iPad since the second reinstall, and so far so good. Maybe just coincidence, but I'm not going to take a chance - especially since I like Mantis better than e-sword's iPad app anyway.
