I just got version 4 with the NASS. It worked for a while, but I lost both the top and bottom toolbars. I tried exiting and restarting the program several times, and also tried rebooting the phone. Still no toolbars.

To the best of my memory, the last place it worked was when I was in the GWHS. I think it was when I tried going back to the NASS that I lost the toolbars.

I had noticed that when I have the settings for Strongs set at "word" the GWHS doesn't have words underlined or Strong numbers. I like to use the NASS in the mode where it shows the underlined words, but the GWHS doesn't show the Strongs (or underlined words) that way. Since I don't recognize the Greek words I rely on the numbers when I use that version. That means that I need to change the settings to show the numbers any time I compare, and then swithch back to the word mode. I think each version that has strongs numbers should have a setting for which mode to use, or else the GWHS should show the numbers regardless of whether the settings are for number or word.

Anyway, I have no toolbars and don't know what to do besides deleting the program and try installing it again.

Double-tap the screen.  That toggles between full-screen mode, and regular mode.

The very first time you double-tap (usually by accident :) a screen pops up and tells you this.  You must have missed it.

Regarding the GWHS:  That is a known issue, and an update is coming to fix it.  Actually there is a GWHS update AND a 4.1 application update that'll work together.  There's some new code in 4.1 to handle the upcoming Zodhiates' Complete Word Study Bible, and the GWHS may take advantage of that.  (4.1 won't be required for the GWHS and CWS, but it'll open up features that aren't possible in previous releases.)

At first I didn't see much need in the full screen mode. But I did notice before that the highlight bar was in the way to use the lower hot corners. Now I see that the full screen mode makes those corners accessable while the highlight bar is there, and the highlight bar even moves up a little to make it easier to get the corners without touching the bar. Also, you don't have to be as careful not to touch the top toolbar when getting the top hot corners. It almost seems that this might have been discussed before, but I didn't remember.
