Reading Romans. In chapter 2, go to TSK, software locks. Tried deleting and reloading TSK without success. Tried going to TSK from different translations. No luck. Running latest released version as of Feb 11, 2009 (3.1). TSK CURRENTLY USELESS.

Yes, it looks like there's a problem with Romans 2, probably due to the number of references there. We will look into this.

It works in Analyse Verse mode ok, since that looks at one verse at a time.

I just went back into Romans 2 in the TSK using the latest 4.0 version of the software, and it worked ok. This might be a memory issue -- since there are so many cross-references in that chapter.

Can you try something for me? Reboot your phone just before going back into Mantis and see if it makes any difference. (To reboot, hold down the top and home buttons, and keep holding until the Apple logo appears, then release.) This clears up the temporary memory, and it can make a difference.

Let me know if this has any effect. Thanks!

I tried the same thing and thought that the program locked up on me, but then realized that it was just responding very, very slowly. I tapped a verse reference and then noticed 10, 15, or more seconds later that it displayed the verse. Scrolling is even less responsive, but with several vertical swipes of the screen I could get it to move a line or sometimes several lines.
I tried it after rebooting my iphone and going from HCSB to TSK, TSK was very responsive, I went back to Rom 2, switched to NASS then to TSK and TSK was all but frozen (very, very slow response, but not locked up).

As always, the response from you guys is outstanding. I appreciate your efforts and am glad to at least know it is not just a problem I alone have. Sounds like the fix will come when I obtain version 4. Apple's delays in allowing release is causing me increasing anger at Apple. To be honest, I wonder if the liberal mindset of the left coast may be a contributing factor to their feet-dragging in allowing an excellent, superior iPhone Bible study app to be released. I doubt many Apple employees are devotees to Scripture.

Whatever the case, I was wondering if I could obtain the beta release of the latest version 4. I received an email back in Dec. 08 informing me that I had been approved to obtain the beta product. At that time I chose to not participate; however, I now would like to. Unfortunately, the link provided at that time no longer works due to the continued maturing of the product. Could you provide via email a new beta link? It would also allow me to purchase some products I've been wanting that currently only run in the new version.

Thanks again for your exemplary support efforts.

I forgot to mention in the last response that the reboot option had no affect. Still not working. For me it is not "slow." It simply does not work. I've tried waiting for 2 or 3 minutes and nothing happens. It even takes 20 or 30 seconds to exit the program when I press the "home" button.

I did notice, however, that the analyze function does, indeed, work fine.

I have numerous versions and am going to get many more additions to the app. Frankly, a primary function of my iPhone is as a Bible study tool due to the unparalleled functionality and power of Mantis.

You guys have truly developed a product that sets the standard for Bible study apps. No other app comes close, especially when on considers the amount of available add-on titles. I love it. I have a very powerful (and expensive) Libronix Bible study package for my computer, but I've gotten to where I use Mantis more that it! Amazing that an inexpensive iPhone app is generally more useful than another software that costs well over $1000.

I love my Mantis software.
