yesterday I tried the Strong numbers in Greek Westtcott-Hort Bible in the 3.1.0 version. I liked the word mode - the word with Strong number is blue.

Then I decided to buy the new 4.0 version (because for the free version I could be waiting forever...) I like it, but I was pretty much disappointed by the way it handles the Strong numbers. Just imagine reading a Greek NT where EVERY SINGLE WORD is underlined. It's so disturbing...

So I'd like to ask you - could you either return the word mode from the previous version (words in blue or whatever color WITHOUT underline) or give there a choice into the Settings screen? Or did I just miss this setting?

And there is one more thing which would please me. Can you fix the Greek accents so they would display correctly using the Times New Roman font? Most of the accents are displaced when I use any serif font I can find in iPhone...Well this is probably more the issue of the font then of Mantis, but where else could I ask...

And a last question - any idea when can we expect a Hebrew text with Strongs? I found it in the Bibles section in the program, so I suppose you're at least thinking about it.

The only options we have for strongs are word mode and numbers mode. We got rid of the blue option because with the other strongs Bibles, such as KJVS, NASS, and CWS, this conflicted with red lettering. So when a word should have been red, it was not blue, which confused things. Underlining was the best option that works with everything.

Can you give me an instance of the Greek accents not displaying correctly? I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it with the built-in iPhone fonts, but we'll look at it.

Today we are working on the Hebrew O.T., Hebrew N.T. and Hebrew O.T. with Strongs Numbers. Since Hebrew is pretty tough for us (we can't read it) we'll release it as a "pre-release" and hopefully you, and some others who can read Hebrew can help us check it.

Great, I'll gladly help you with the Hebrew. And the Strongs version will come especially handy. I'm also curious about the NT. BTW - is it really Hebrew, or is it Peshitta - the Aramaic NT?

And the accents - the spiritus lenis and gravis (an "apostrof" above every vocal in the beginning of the word) are displayed after the letter and not in the center above it. The height is correct. The acute and grave accents are displayed too high (should be immediatelly above the letter) and should be right in the center of the letter. The circumflex accent is always behind the letter instead of right above it, like the other accents. The same problem is the subscriptes iota.

I have opened the first chapter of Revelations, so:
spiritus lenis: Rev 1:1 first 2 words (Apokalypsis Iesou)- correct, Rev 1:5 second word (apo) misplaced.
spiritus gravis: Rev 1:3 second word (o) misplaced.
acute accent: Rev 1:3 first word above makarios - second alpha is too high and slightly misplaced
grave accent: Rev 1:3 third word (kai) too high
circumflex accent: Rev 1:1 second and third word (Iesou Chrisou) should be right above the u (height correct)
subscripted iota: Rev 1:1 last word (Ioanne) under that last letter eta - should be right below the left foot of the letter.

These are concrete examples, but it is like this all around.

The funny thing about this is that if 2 accent marks meet at one letter, they are displayed correctly. Also with the upper case letters the accent marks are correct.

This problem concerns only the serif fonts like Times New Roman, sans serif fonts, like Helvetica or Arial are OK. But not so pretty. And if you open almost any printed edition of NT or Septuaginta, it's printed in a serif font.
