I have put a lot of information in global notes, but although it's stores the notes ok it is very difficult to use. These notes only open in a small window and the verse references are not accessible. Am I missing something that let's me make notes that I can go back and use and review easily?

You're not missing anything, but a future version of Mantis will allow you to view those notes much more easily. We're working on that now.

yea, i would really like this.

i chain reference my bible, and since i have an ipad now, its going to someday be my primary bible.
mantis is awesome, by and far my favorite bible app on the iphone on any portable device i've ever had.
i've actually been into digital bibles for many years. when i was a kid, i had a KJV Bible for my nintendo gameboy.
no joke, totally telling the truth. i would take it to church and everything. i was lightning fast too.
it helped me pay attention somehow when i had a bible that made sense to my digitally trained mind.

and i'd like to do this with my ipad. but i'd like to put all my sermons and bible studies on it too.
but the global notes is just not quite there yet. if it were, i could just put my sermons right in.
i have plenty :-D also, sometimes the bible studies i have to mark quote the same verse.
so i have my studies divided into separate folders, and one folder has a note linked to
Revelation 12:9, and the next folder has a note that links to the same. neither come up. :-(

but its getting there. mantis keeps getting better. i'll use it anyways until its ready,
just not as my primary bible :-D

ya know what?

nix what i said before. I finally figured out how to open global notes! my wife figured it out for me on accident.
apparently in the notes view hitting the three little dots opens notes in the notes view.
i could never figure that out until just now! i think that needs to be documented better. But now its awesome!

Only two requests now....

I'd like a bigger window for editing notes and global notes. that little editing window is practically unusable.
And secondly i'd like to be able to rearrange my notes in the note screen in any order i want.

Otherwise, I'm happy.

The reason the editing region is so small is because the keyboard takes up half the screen at the bottom.

Uhhh, I think you are mistaken somehow. If you are talking the iphone, then yes you are right.

But i'm not. I'm talking about the ipad. The global notes editng pane only uses like 1/8th of the screen. Its the size of a candy bar. Its only lets me see like 3 lines at a time, and thats ridiculous. Also the keyboard on the screen is not an issue for me because i normally use the keyboard dock. But i realize that it takes for changes to haopen, so i'm not complaining, only making request for this to change, because i really like this bible.

Also, I've discovered that the application will not allow me to have more than 12 global notes. Thats not good. :-(
The first 12 all work fine. I can read them and edit them and all works great. They are divided into folders so i can
keep my sermons organized, one sermon per folder. Each note is about 2 pages long, so there is plenty to them.

but the 13th note and beyond don't work. they appear in the notes list, but when i try to expand my global note,
they don't expand. when i click the edit button i can see the contents of the note in the editor pane, but thats it.

any fix for this? I'd thought I could just upload all my sermons and studies this way, but it seems that it REALLY
doesn't wanna work with me.

any thoughts?

If it helps, i inputted these notes in with the online note editor. And i can see the notes that won't open in the
note editor online and on my ipad.

also i'm using an ipad with the lastest iOS and version 4.9.1 of Mantis Bible Study

You should contact support about this. There is no limit to the number of global notes you can have, so it's possible there's a problem with your notes file. Or you may have uncovered a unique bug. It may be something odd in your notes file. Support can help figure this out.

Contacted support. I'm certain its a bug now. I wish there was a way to post pictures here of what its doing.

I tried seeing if it madea difference if i copied on the ipad the contents of the global note to the clipboard, then delete the note and then create a new global note in the same location by pasting the old contents into the new note.

Then clicked "done"

The note appears normal until you open it. Then it opens a completely different note. Complete different. It seems arbitrary even. :-P
